- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Schedule Notes: Orientation occurs every other Monday; weekend coverage may be needed based on unit demand; at least one major holiday commitment is required
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 2-3 years of recent ICU nursing experience or comparable acute care experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification or experience required
- Experience with neuro ICU, medical ICU, or surgical ICU patients preferred
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt quickly in a teaching hospital environment
- Willingness to assist with charge nurse responsibilities when needed
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing to neuro ICU and intensive care patients
- Monitor vital signs, assess patient status, and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Support patient care using common ICU equipment, including IV pumps, oxygen delivery devices, chest tubes, wound vacs, bladder scanners, SCDs, glucometers, and remote telemetry
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, students, and new hires in a supportive teaching hospital setting
- Float first when required by unit need
- Maintain professional, flexible, and patient-centered care during busy seasonal staffing periods
