- Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Schedule Notes: Flexibility is required; block scheduling is not available
- Holiday Requirement: Must work at least one major holiday
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing or a related acute care specialty
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred; this travel RN role includes charge responsibilities
- Must be comfortable working in a teaching environment with students and new hires
- Ability to provide all requested time-off details at the time of submission
- Flexibility to adapt to unit scheduling and census needs
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate care to Medical-Surgical patients in an acute care setting
- Serve as charge RN when assigned and support unit flow, patient placement, and care coordination
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and support staff
- Monitor patient conditions, administer treatments, and document care accurately
- Assist with unit education and help maintain a positive, supportive clinical culture
- Respond to changing patient needs while demonstrating strong clinical judgment
- Work 2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs
- Contribute to a collaborative environment focused on quality patient care and patient safety
