Join a high-acuity neonatal intensive care team in Portland, Oregon (97239). This 13-week travel RN opportunity is ideal for an experienced NICU Registered Nurse who wants to make a meaningful impact caring for critically ill newborns in a collaborative, fast-paced Level 4 NICU. - Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse Job
- Location: Portland, OR 97239
- Start Date: Flexible start options available in September, October, or November 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shifts per Week: 3 shifts per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
- Charting System: Epic
- Schedule Notes: Weekend coverage required; floating within the hospital may be expected
- Patient Population: Neonates and infants
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required
- BSN preferred
- BLS and NRP required
- Epic experience required
- Strong clinical background in high-acuity neonatal care
- Experience with ventilator management, bubble CPAP, and advanced NICU support preferred
- First-time travelers may be considered with strong experience
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic unit and float as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, family-centered care to critically ill, convalescing, and growing newborns
- Monitor and manage neonates requiring advanced respiratory and developmental support
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
- Care for surgical patients, tracheostomy patients, and infants with complex medical needs
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
- Maintain a calm, organized approach in a high-acuity NICU environment
- Support team-based care and contribute to excellent patient outcomes
