- Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekend Requirement: 12-16 weekend shifts during the contract
- Floating: Required based on unit needs
- Charting/Systems: Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5-6
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Experience with telemetry nursing and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Comfortable caring for patients with diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetes, GI bleed, anemia, and renal failure
- Strong skills in IV therapy, blood product administration, wound care, and line management
- Ability to work night shifts, float as needed, and adapt to changing hospital unit needs
- First-time travelers welcome
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Open to completing pre-start modules and hospital orientation requirements
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality bedside care to adult and geriatric med-surg patients
- Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms and patient status
- Administer medications, IV insulin protocols, blood products, and respiratory treatments as ordered
- Provide care for central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, feeding tubes, colostomies, and wound vacs
- Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and non-invasive airway management
- Assist with rapid response situations and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Document care accurately in Epic and communicate clearly using SBAR
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe, efficient patient care environment
- Float to nearby units as needed to support patient care and staffing needs
