- Facility Setting: Level III NICU with neonatal and infant patient care
- Schedule: 4x12-hour night shifts
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840-$1,940
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Floating: May be required within scope to newborn care, postpartum/newborn transition, pediatrics, and PICU infant care
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; pending state license accepted with required timing before start
- Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
- Full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred
- BLS and NRP required at time of submission
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required; pending completion acceptable for submission
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience managing high-acuity neonatal patients and ventilated infants
- BSN preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care for neonates and infants in a busy neonatal intensive care unit
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced respiratory support, including conventional ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, HFOV/HFJV, and iNO
- Support hemodynamic stability, IV fluid management, medication calculations, and neonatal dosage calculations
- Perform and assist with procedures such as IV placement, lab draws, line care, chest tube care, and wound/drain management
- Care for critically ill newborns with conditions such as prematurity, RDS, BPD, sepsis, congenital anomalies, and therapeutic hypothermia needs
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Float as needed to support newborn transition, postpartum, pediatrics, and PICU infant care within scope
