Job Details
- Position: NICU Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Hours: 36 hours per week, with 48-hour schedules accepted
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 - $1,940
- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
- Unit Type: Level III NICU
- Start Date: 09/14/2026
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license; pending Virginia RN license accepted with required timing before start
- Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience, with full-time Level III NICU experience required
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required at time of submission
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required; pending submission may be accepted
- Strong Epic charting experience required
- BSN preferred
- Ability to thrive in a high-acuity neonatal intensive care unit with complex patient needs
Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care for neonates and infants in a busy Level III NICU
- Monitor and manage complex respiratory support, including conventional ventilation, high-frequency ventilation, CPAP/BiPAP, and iNO
- Support critically ill newborns with IV fluids, drips, hemodynamic support, and therapeutic cooling
- Perform and assist with advanced NICU procedures, including IV placement, lab draws, line care, chest tube care, and post-op support
- Assess, document, and respond to changes in patient condition while collaborating with the interdisciplinary neonatal care team
- Deliver safe, family-centered care for infants with prematurity, respiratory distress, cardiac anomalies, and other complex diagnoses
