Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry, cardiac stepdown, or progressive care nursing experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience required
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS required
• NIHSS required prior to start
• Recent EPIC experience within the past 2 years required
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and post-cardiac cath care required
• Strong assessment skills and comfort caring for adult patients with complex cardiac diagnoses
• Reliable transportation is strongly recommended for this Plattsburgh, NY area assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adult telemetry and cardiac stepdown patients in a progressive care setting
• Monitor telemetry, assess for changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately to clinical needs
• Manage insulin drips, cardiac drips, and other titrated infusions according to unit protocols
• Initiate IVs, support post-cardiac cath patients, and assist with advanced monitoring and interventions
• Care for patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, hemodynamic instability, and other complex cardiac conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe patient outcomes
• Float as needed to appropriate units while maintaining high standards of nursing care
• Document accurately in EPIC and follow unit-specific policies, procedures, and standards
