Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,180 - $2,290
• Setting: Acute cardiac telemetry and stepdown unit
• Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: 12-hour days, including weekend day coverage; every other weekend required
• Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Holiday Requirement: Rotates holidays with permanent staff
• Charting System: EPIC
• Floating: May float to MedSurg/Tele units as needed
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) position

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent cardiac telemetry, stepdown, progressive care, or acute care nursing experience required
• BLS (AHA) required
• Ability to titrate cardiac drips and manage higher-acuity telemetry patients
• Comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry strips independently
• EPIC experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Must be comfortable working every other weekend and participating in the holiday rotation
• Professional appearance required; no false nails per unit policy

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality care to cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients with varying acuity levels
• Monitor telemetry and quickly recognize changes in patient condition
• Titrate and manage ordered cardiac drips, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro per protocol
• Care for patients with cardiac conditions, post-cath procedures, AMI, post-PCI, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post-op lung surgeries
• Collaborate with charge nurses, monitor techs, CNAs, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in EPIC
• Support safe patient flow and assist with floating to MedSurg/Tele units when assigned
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in a higher-acuity cardiac stepdown environment
