- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Hours per Week: 36
- Schedule: Every other weekend; holidays as required
- EMR: Meditech
- Openings: 2 positions
- Location: Tuscaloosa, AL 35401
- Work Environment: On-site, patient-facing clinical role
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or a compact state license; temporary licenses are not accepted
- Associate degree in nursing required
- AHA BLS or Red Cross certification required
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry or acute care experience required; 2 years preferred
- Ability to work under the highest level of professional license in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed
- Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, and bedside nursing skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality postoperative nursing care for general surgical patients in a 32-bed unit
- Monitor telemetry patients and respond to changes in patient condition to support safe, timely interventions
- Deliver compassionate bedside care focused on pain management, mobility, recovery, and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support coordinated care
- Maintain a healing, patient-centered environment that promotes comfort, safety, and positive outcomes
- Adapt to unit needs, including floating to other care areas and covering holidays as required
