Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Job in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend; holidays as required
• EMR: Meditech
• Openings: 2 positions
• Location: Tuscaloosa, AL 35401
• Work Environment: On-site, patient-facing clinical role

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or a compact state license; temporary licenses are not accepted
• Associate degree in nursing required
• AHA BLS or Red Cross certification required
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry or acute care experience required; 2 years preferred
• Ability to work under the highest level of professional license in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed
• Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, and bedside nursing skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality postoperative nursing care for general surgical patients in a 32-bed unit
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond to changes in patient condition to support safe, timely interventions
• Deliver compassionate bedside care focused on pain management, mobility, recovery, and patient education
• Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support coordinated care
• Maintain a healing, patient-centered environment that promotes comfort, safety, and positive outcomes
• Adapt to unit needs, including floating to other care areas and covering holidays as required
