• Duration: 16 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Schedule: Every other weekend; holidays as required
• Patient Care Setting: Medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Charting System: Meditech
• Dress Code: Solid navy scrubs
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 - $1,940

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or a compact state license
• No temporary licenses accepted
• Associate degree in Nursing required
• AHA BLS certification required
• OR Red Cross certification required
• NURSYS verification required
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred; 18 months may be considered with experience under the highest level of professional license
• At least 1 year of recent experience in the Med/Surg Tele specialty required
• Strong clinical skills in med/surg telemetry, acute care nursing, and patient monitoring
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care for med/surg and telemetry patients in a multi-specialty acute care setting
• Monitor telemetry patients and support care for medical patients with dialysis and other acute needs
• Care for surgical populations including orthopedic and general surgery patients
• Deliver patient-centered nursing care focused on recovery, comfort, and positive outcomes
• Prioritize pain management, mobility, and prevention of complications
• Maintain a safe, secure, and compassionate care environment
• Work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary team members to support unit flow and patient care
• Adapt to floating assignments across units or hospitals when needed
• Contribute to a team-oriented environment with a strong focus on quality and professionalism
