• Setting: Acute care, Labor & Delivery unit
• Location: Freeport, IL 61032
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: Night shift with weekend rotation
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Start Date: 09/21/2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,360 - $2,480

• Charting System: MEDITECH

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required to submit
• At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery or LDRP experience required
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced certification required
• Experience with labor support, triage, postpartum care, and couplet care preferred
• Ability to titrate drips such as Pitocin and Insulin
• Comfort circulating in the OR and recovering post-procedure
• Experience stabilizing newborns and supporting clean gynecology cases is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and antepartum patients
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in maternal or fetal condition
• Assist with deliveries, C-sections, triage, and recovery care as needed
• Support newborn stabilization and couplet care after delivery
• Titrate ordered medications and drips according to unit protocols
• Work closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Document care accurately in the charting system and maintain unit standards
• Participate in weekend rotation and occasional call coverage as needed
• Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment on a high-acuity maternal-newborn unit
