- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Expectation: Holiday coverage in rotation
- Orientation: First week on days, followed by scheduled 12-hour shifts
- Floating: Between pediatric and adult behavioral health units as needed
- Charting System: Cerner
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020-$2,130
- Parking: Free parking available
Job Requirements
- Active Maine RN license
- Current BLS certification
- At least 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience required
- Pediatric behavioral health experience preferred
- Comfort caring for pediatric patients ages 5-18, as well as adult and geriatric behavioral health populations
- Experience with de-escalation, physical restraints, medication administration, group facilitation, and documentation
- Willingness to float between pediatric and adult psychiatric units
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced inpatient behavioral health environment
- First-time travel nurses may be considered
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care to inpatient behavioral health patients in pediatric and adult settings
- Complete patient assessments, medication passes, and accurate clinical documentation
- Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to support patient safety
- Assist with physical restraints when clinically necessary and within facility protocols
- Lead or support therapeutic groups and structured unit activities
- Collaborate with psych techs, providers, and support staff to deliver high-quality behavioral health care
- Support a safe, respectful, and structured environment for voluntary and involuntary admissions
- Float between adult and pediatric units based on unit needs
- Participate in holiday, weekend, and night coverage as scheduled
