Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Travel Assignment in Greenville, North Carolina

  • Setting: 64-bed flex unit with intermediate and general care patients
  • Location: Greenville, North Carolina

  • Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Hours: 36 hours per week, typically 3 x 12-hour shifts
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 to $2,130

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, step-down, telemetry, or cardiac nursing experience
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Strong cardiac assessment skills and the ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Experience with cardiac drips and titration preferred
  • EPIC experience preferred
  • Must pass an EKG exam prior to start as part of credentialing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity acute care environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for patients with cardiac and cardiovascular conditions
  • Monitor and assess patients with diagnoses such as NSTEMI, acute coronary syndrome, CHF, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac interventions
  • Support patients receiving cardiac drips, device management, and frequent cardiac evaluations
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing assistants, and the care team to coordinate safe, effective patient care
  • Care for overflow medical patients, including those with diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, sepsis, and GI bleeds
  • Respond to changing patient needs and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care
