In this travel RN job, you will care for a diverse patient population across step-down and related inpatient units based on competency, with a primary focus on cardiac stepdown nursing. Job Details

• Position: Cardiac Stepdown RN
• Job Type: Travel nursing assignment
• Location: Parkersburg, WV
• Setting: Acute care float pool coverage across inpatient units based on competency
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts
• Shifts per Week: 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: 3–4 shifts
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,180–$2,290

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of nursing experience preferred
• Med-surg background required; step-down experience preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfort working in a float pool environment and adapting to different inpatient units
• Ability to titrate drips in step-down or telemetry settings
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient care
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality care for cardiac stepdown and related acute care patients
• Monitor and manage patients with varying acuity levels across assigned units
• Titrate ordered drips as appropriate in step-down settings
• Interpret telemetry strips and respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, monitor techs, and support staff
• Administer medications and perform nursing assessments according to patient needs
• Document accurately in EPIC and follow all unit and facility procedures
• Adapt quickly to daily assignments and provide dependable support to the staffing team
