Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum of 1 year of med/surg nursing or acute care experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• Strong understanding of patient care basics, vital signs, and lab interpretation
• Proficiency in medication administration and controlled substance handling
• Experience with NG/NJ tubes, chest tubes, and heparin drips preferred
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to medical-surgical patients with varying acuity levels
• Monitor vital signs, labs, and patient progress, reporting changes promptly
• Administer medications accurately and manage controlled substances appropriately
• Assist with common med/surg interventions, including NG/NJ tubes, chest tubes, and heparin infusions
• Care for patients returning from heart procedures in the cath lab
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain a smooth, efficient workflow
• Adapt to floating assignments within related units as needed
• Support a positive patient experience through teamwork, professionalism, and strong communication
