Job Details

• Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown / Neuro Stepdown
• Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Job
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,070 - $2,180
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Unit Type: Neuro Stepdown & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Setting: Acute care hospital
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: 2 shifts on the unit
• Floating: Possible to nearby units as needed

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of acute care or stepdown nursing experience preferred
• Strong neuroscience or neuro stepdown experience, including care of stroke patients
• NIHSS certification or current NIHSS in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Epic experience required
• ACLS preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
• Comfortable working in a higher-acuity stepdown or telemetry environment

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to neuroscience stepdown and EMU patients
• Monitor and assess patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, craniotomies, and post-TPA care
• Perform frequent neurological assessments and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and manage titratable drips per physician orders and unit protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary care teams to support safe patient outcomes
• Support telemetry monitoring and coordinate care with related clinical units as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while helping maintain a safe, efficient acute care environment
