• Schedule: Every other weekend required; self-scheduling supported with 4-week schedules
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,550 - $1,630
• Uniform: Black scrubs

Job Requirements

• Active RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications
• At least 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit, step-down, telemetry, or similar acute care nursing experience
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to interpret EKG rhythms
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Comfort working with BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
• Preferred experience with peritoneal dialysis, peripheral IV skills, stroke care, post-cardiac cath care, tube feedings, and NG/Dobhoff tubes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate closely with techs and the interdisciplinary care team

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to progressive care patients with varying acuity levels
• Monitor patients receiving cardiac drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, and respiratory support
• Perform hourly rounding during day shifts and every 2-hour rounding on nights when applicable
• Support patient experience initiatives through clear communication, AIDET, and updated communication boards
• Assist with procedures and care needs such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, Dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting
• Float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed
• Work closely with techs and the interdisciplinary team to provide efficient, patient-centered care
