Job Details

• Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with acute care and stepdown patient care
• Location: Nashville, TN 37203 — centrally located near downtown Nashville healthcare jobs and local amenities
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,640 - $1,730
• Charting System: Meditech
• Schedule Notes: Weekend shifts are required; experienced nurses may float after orientation

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of acute care, telemetry, or stepdown nursing experience
• Strong time management, critical thinking, and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to provide safe, effective care in a fast-paced Progressive Care Unit environment
• BLS required; ACLS required for stepdown-focused assignments
• Comfort with bedside shift report, daily huddles, and patient-centered communication

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients with varying acuity levels
• Monitor patients closely, recognizing changes in condition and escalating concerns appropriately
• Manage common procedures and therapies such as chest tubes, lumbar punctures, high-flow oxygen, Vapotherm, BiPAP, and titrated cardiac drips as applicable
• Collaborate with the care team to support safe patient flow and unit efficiency
• Deliver clear bedside handoffs and contribute to a positive patient experience
• Adapt to both acute care and neuro stepdown needs while maintaining excellent clinical judgment
