Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
- At least 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Resume must clearly document relevant acute care and Med/Surg experience
- Ability to provide required submission documents, including license verification and skills checklist
- Strong communication skills, adaptability, and professionalism in a fast-paced inpatient environment
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate care to adult medical-surgical patients
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions throughout the shift
- Administer medications and treatments according to clinical standards and nursing best practices
- Support post-surgical care and manage common diagnoses such as abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and bariatric-related care
- Work with specialty equipment including IV pumps, feeding tubes, and NG tubes
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes
- Adapt to floating requirements as needed within the facility
- Maintain accurate charting in Epic and uphold high standards of patient safety and professionalism
