• Duration: 26 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
• Shifts per Week: 4
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160 - $2,270
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Required, including every other weekend as needed
• Floating: May float to postpartum, antepartum, and other nearby units as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at submission if applicable
• At least 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience in a high-acuity or fast-paced maternal-child setting
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, obstetric care, and newborn care
• Current BLS and NRP required
• ACLS and AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate preferred
• Proficiency with Epic charting required
• Current supervisory references required
• Proof of required certifications needed with submission
• Strong clinical judgment and confidence working in a high-volume L&D environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate patient care to laboring mothers and newborns in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit
• Function as a baby nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Circulate for C-sections and support OR-related maternal care
• Perform newborn assessments, including eyes/thighs care and vitamin K administration
• Monitor fetal status and assist with electronic fetal monitoring
• Support antepartum, postpartum, and couplet care as assigned
• Administer and monitor medications and infusions commonly used in obstetric nursing, including magnesium sulfate, insulin, and heparin
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support quality outcomes and efficient patient flow
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs in a busy, high-acuity hospital environment
