- Position: Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
- Location: Brownwood, Texas
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: Early October 2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040 - $2,150
- Orientation: 80 hours
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 on nights
- Weekend Commitment: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
- Charting: Allscripts; Altera experience preferred
- Setting: Level II maternal facility with Level II NICU support
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
- At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications preferred or required based on facility compliance
- Experience with fetal monitoring, labor support, postpartum recovery, and maternal-newborn care
- Strong clinical skills in obstetrical assessments and patient-centered nursing care
- Ability to work independently in a self-scheduling environment
- Flu vaccination required unless approved for medical or religious exemption
- Must be able to complete required labs and compliance items within the designated timeframe
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for patients in labor, delivery, recovery, and antepartum monitoring
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using external and internal fetal monitoring systems
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and post-delivery recovery care
- Support postpartum assessments, newborn care, and family education
- Administer medications and therapies commonly used in obstetric care, including IV fluids and labor-support interventions
- Recognize and respond quickly to changes in maternal or fetal condition with clinical confidence
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to promote safe outcomes for mothers and babies
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards throughout every shift
