• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Schedule: Days, evenings, and nights
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840-$1,940

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of South Dakota
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; emergency room, ER nursing, or acute care experience preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to obtain ACLS and PALS certification within 6 months of hire
• Ability to obtain TNCC within 6 months of hire for solo Emergency Room coverage
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency care setting

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective emergency nursing care in accordance with nursing standards and the South Dakota Nurse Practice Act
• Assess patients, develop care plans, and implement interventions based on patient needs in the emergency department
• Administer medications, treatments, and prescribed therapies
• Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and communicate significant findings to providers and the care team
• Respond appropriately to urgent, stressful, and emergency situations
• Educate patients and families on medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Support shift coordination and help maintain continuity of care
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to maintain a clean, safe healthcare environment
• Assist with orientation and ongoing learning of new staff when needed
