Overview

This Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse position offers the chance to work in a high-acuity observation unit with quick patient turnover, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a patient-centered team environment. First-time travel nurses are welcome. This assignment is a great fit for adaptable, organized RNs who are comfortable floating within specialty care and delivering high-quality acute care nursing.

• Setting: On-site acute care observation and telemetry unit
• Location: Easton, MD 21601
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour days
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,920 - $2,020
• Schedule: 3x12 day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required within the specialty as needed
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or compact license at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience preferred
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Comfortable with a patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6
• Ability to adapt to a fast-turnover observation unit environment
• Must be comfortable floating within scope

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg Tele patients in an acute care setting
• Monitor telemetry, assess patient status, and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Support patients admitted with chest pain, abdominal pain, UTI, renal conditions, and trauma/orthopedic needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, and phlebotomy
• Manage common telemetry and medical-surgical interventions including IV therapy, blood products, wound care, and dysrhythmia monitoring
• Assist with peritoneal dialysis-related unit workflows as directed
• Document accurately in Epic and maintain compliance with unit protocols and nursing standards
• Deliver compassionate, efficient patient care in a busy observation unit with quick turnover
