Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment in Ionia, Michigan

Job Details

• Position: Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
• Setting: Acute care medical-surgical telemetry unit
• Location: Ionia, MI 48846
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 - $1,940
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required, with some schedules working every third weekend
• Floating: No floating at this time
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Start Date: 9/21/2026
• Charting System: EPIC preferred

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required by start date
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients in an acute care hospital setting
• Strong telemetry monitoring skills and dysrhythmia interpretation experience
• Ability to manage common medical-surgical diagnoses, including CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, and orthopedic patients
• Comfortable working with insulin drips and Cardizem drips
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Ability to submit requested documentation by the required deadline

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality bedside care to medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and manage therapies including insulin and Cardizem drips
• Support patients with oxygen therapy, IV care, wound care, and post-operative recovery needs
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote positive patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and follow unit protocols
• Provide compassionate nursing care while supporting patient safety, comfort, and education
• Work effectively on night shift while maintaining strong teamwork and communication
