Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Columbus, Ohio

Join a leading Labor & Delivery nursing team in Columbus, OH. This 13-week travel Registered Nurse opportunity offers the chance to care for mothers and newborns in a high-acuity Level 4 maternity center within a respected academic medical environment.

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050 - $2,160
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Unit Type: Women & Infant Float Pool, Level 4 Maternity Center
• Coverage: Call and weekend coverage required

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certification required
• AWHONN Advanced certification and EFM experience preferred
• Ability to float between Labor & Delivery, Maternal Special Care, and Postpartum
• Strong experience with high-acuity maternal and newborn care
• Comfort with common L&D procedures and women’s health clinical workflows
• Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions only
• Willingness to complete credentialing requirements promptly

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for patients in Labor & Delivery, Maternal Special Care, and Postpartum
• Support antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient needs in a float pool environment
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, including external fetal monitoring
• Administer medications and therapies such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, and antihypertensives as ordered
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries and related postpartum care
• Educate patients and families on breastfeeding, newborn care, discharge planning, and recovery expectations
• Perform ongoing assessment, documentation, and coordination with the care team to support excellent outcomes
