Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a compact state
- Current BLS certification through AHA
- Current ACLS certification through AHA
- Current PALS certification through AHA
- Current TNCC certification
- At least 1 year of emergency department nursing experience or related acute care experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity clinical setting
- Successful completion of orientation and competency validation requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide Emergency Room nursing care using the full nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Deliver safe, timely care to adult and pediatric patients with emergency and critical conditions
- Support care for patients presenting with stroke, STEMI, trauma, and resuscitation needs
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocol and monitor patient response
- Document patient history, symptoms, care provided, and medication administration accurately in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
- Work collaboratively with physicians, charge nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team in a dynamic emergency department environment
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, delegation skills, and adaptability in changing situations
