Bring your Med/Surg nursing experience to a supportive inpatient unit in Salem, Virginia. This 13-week travel nurse assignment offers a collaborative team environment, strong patient-focused standards, and the opportunity to care for a diverse orthopedic, neuro, and pediatric surgical patient population in the Roanoke Valley.

- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890

- Unit Setting: Orthopedic, neuro, and pediatric surgical care
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing or acute care nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
- Ability to care for post-op orthopedic, spine, and podiatry patients
- PALS certification preferred for candidates comfortable caring for pediatric patients
- Experience with post-operative orthopedic care preferred
- Team-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to patient advocacy
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to post-operative Med/Surg patients
- Monitor patients recovering from orthopedic, spine, and podiatry procedures
- Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and support recovery plans
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote positive patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Support a respectful, upbeat, and patient-focused unit culture
