Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year of current Orthopedic RN or Medical-Surgical experience in a hospital setting
- BLS certification required
- Ortho/Spine nursing experience preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented approach
- Energetic, empathetic, and able to contribute to a collaborative orthopedic care unit
Orthopedic Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to orthopedic and neuro patients recovering from surgery
- Monitor patient status, respond to changing conditions, and support safe recovery
- Care for patients undergoing total joint procedures, including knee, hip, and shoulder cases
- Assist with spine surgery patient care as needed
- Work closely with charge nurses, techs, and the broader healthcare team to maintain efficient unit flow
- Use clinical tools and equipment such as immobilizers, braces, and cold therapy supports
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while contributing to a strong unit culture
