• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,990 - $2,090
• Assignment Length: 8 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour evenings, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
• Schedule: Block scheduling; weekends required
• Start Date: September 28, 2026
• Setting: Adult inpatient behavioral health / psychiatric unit
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 days; 1:9 nights
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting: Epic
• Travel Assignment: Yes

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of inpatient adult behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission; compact license required
• Current BLS/CPR certification required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Must be comfortable working with high-acuity behavioral health and mental health patients
• Must be prepared for hands-on intervention when clinically necessary
• PMAB training required prior to start
• Epic charting experience required
• Must be able to work scheduled weekends and commit to required holiday coverage
• Reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients in an acute inpatient behavioral health setting
• Perform patient assessments, monitor conditions, and respond to changing mental health needs
• Support milieu management and maintain a safe, therapeutic unit environment
• Use de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication to support patient stability
• Assist with seclusion and restraint protocols according to unit policy and safety standards
• Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic response and side effects
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote effective patient outcomes
• Float to other units as needed based on patient care needs and skill set
• Document accurately in Epic and follow all unit procedures and compliance requirements
