- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,990 - $2,090
- Assignment Length: 8 weeks
- Shift: 8-hour evenings, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- Schedule: Block scheduling; weekends required
- Start Date: September 28, 2026
- Setting: Adult inpatient behavioral health / psychiatric unit
- Patient Ratio: 1:5 days; 1:9 nights
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Charting: Epic
- Travel Assignment: Yes
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient adult behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience required
- Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission; compact license required
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Travel nursing experience required
- Must be comfortable working with high-acuity behavioral health and mental health patients
- Must be prepared for hands-on intervention when clinically necessary
- PMAB training required prior to start
- Epic charting experience required
- Must be able to work scheduled weekends and commit to required holiday coverage
- Reliable transportation required
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients in an acute inpatient behavioral health setting
- Perform patient assessments, monitor conditions, and respond to changing mental health needs
- Support milieu management and maintain a safe, therapeutic unit environment
- Use de-escalation techniques and therapeutic communication to support patient stability
- Assist with seclusion and restraint protocols according to unit policy and safety standards
- Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic response and side effects
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote effective patient outcomes
- Float to other units as needed based on patient care needs and skill set
- Document accurately in Epic and follow all unit procedures and compliance requirements
