• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Location: Wilmington, NC 28401
• Unit: Neuro-focused Medical-Surgical Unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 4x12 schedule
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,660 - $1,750
• Scheduling: Block scheduling with weekend coverage required
• Floating: Open to floating within or near the facility as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV management, and isolation precautions
• Strong teamwork mindset with a focus on patient safety and quality care
• Open to floating and working an every-other-weekend schedule
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• First-time travelers may be considered

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for adults and geriatrics on a neuro-focused Med/Surg unit
• Monitor patient conditions, respond to changes in status, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and manage treatments safely and accurately
• Perform and maintain IV access, peripheral line care, and telemetry monitoring
• Support patients with general medicine and neuro-related diagnoses, including CVA care
• Document care in EPIC and communicate effectively using SBAR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Assist with charge nurse responsibilities when applicable and appropriate
