Job Details
- Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Location: Wilmington, NC 28401
- Unit: Neuro-focused Medical-Surgical Unit
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 4x12 schedule
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,660 - $1,750
- Scheduling: Block scheduling with weekend coverage required
- Floating: Open to floating within or near the facility as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV management, and isolation precautions
- Strong teamwork mindset with a focus on patient safety and quality care
- Open to floating and working an every-other-weekend schedule
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- First-time travelers may be considered
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for adults and geriatrics on a neuro-focused Med/Surg unit
- Monitor patient conditions, respond to changes in status, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and manage treatments safely and accurately
- Perform and maintain IV access, peripheral line care, and telemetry monitoring
- Support patients with general medicine and neuro-related diagnoses, including CVA care
- Document care in EPIC and communicate effectively using SBAR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, efficient patient care
- Assist with charge nurse responsibilities when applicable and appropriate
