- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 - $2,600
- Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
- Charting System: Epic experience required
- Floating: Must float within skillset to ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
- Scrubs: Navy blue
Job Requirements
- Active New Jersey RN license or compact RN license at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
- SICU experience may be considered if initial CVICU training was completed
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax preferred
- Strong Epic charting skills required
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned
- Comfortable caring for adult and geriatric cardiovascular patients
Responsibilities
- Provide expert bedside care for critically ill cardiovascular patients in a CVICU setting
- Monitor and manage patients recovering from complex cardiac procedures and open-heart surgery
- Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, sedation, paralytics, and IV insulin protocols
- Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, ventilators, and respiratory support equipment
- Care for patients with advanced cardiac devices and support therapies, including Impella, IABP, and CRRT
- Interpret dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKGs, and hemodynamic monitoring data
- Support patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, stroke care, and renal failure management
- Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions while delivering safe, compassionate care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes
- Adapt quickly to changing acuity and provide floating support within your clinical skillset
