• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 - $2,600
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Floating: Must float within skillset to ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
• Scrubs: Navy blue

Job Requirements

• Active New Jersey RN license or compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
• SICU experience may be considered if initial CVICU training was completed
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax preferred
• Strong Epic charting skills required
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned
• Comfortable caring for adult and geriatric cardiovascular patients

Responsibilities

• Provide expert bedside care for critically ill cardiovascular patients in a CVICU setting
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from complex cardiac procedures and open-heart surgery
• Administer and titrate vasoactive drips, sedation, paralytics, and IV insulin protocols
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, ventilators, and respiratory support equipment
• Care for patients with advanced cardiac devices and support therapies, including Impella, IABP, and CRRT
• Interpret dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKGs, and hemodynamic monitoring data
• Support patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, stroke care, and renal failure management
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions while delivering safe, compassionate care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes
• Adapt quickly to changing acuity and provide floating support within your clinical skillset
