• Assignment Length: 13 weeks, with potential to extend up to 18 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and major holidays required
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Environment: NICU/intermediate care nursery setting with 24/7 provider coverage and a collaborative care team

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of Virginia or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• Level III NICU experience required
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• STABLE certification preferred
• EPIC experience strongly preferred
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and neonatal assessment skills

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to neonates, including premature and high-risk infants in the NICU
• Perform ongoing assessments, monitor patient status, and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Support deliveries as part of the neonatal care team using NRP skills
• Care for infants requiring bubble CPAP, high-flow support, nasal cannulas, and other neonatal interventions
• Manage and monitor lines, drains, and devices such as peripheral IVs, umbilical lines, NG/OG tubes, and syringe pumps
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to create and implement individualized plans of care
• Educate and support families throughout the newborn hospitalization experience
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established clinical protocols and patient safety standards
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on high-quality neonatal outcomes
