Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Assignment – Midlothian, Virginia

Operating Room Registered Nurse travel job in Midlothian, VA: bring your perioperative expertise to a fast-paced surgical services team supporting robotics, spine, orthopedics, laparoscopic, general, gynecologic, urologic, and vascular cases.

Job Details

• Location: Midlothian, VA 23114 – a welcoming Richmond-area community with convenient access to dining, shopping, parks, and regional travel routes
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Setting: Operating Room / Surgical Services / Perioperative Nursing
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 09/28/2026
• Shift: 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM, Monday through Friday
• Shift Duration: 8-hour evening shift
• Hours per Week: 40
• On-Call: 6–8 call shifts in a 6-week schedule, including overnights, weekends, and holidays
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 – $2,370

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state eligibility
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required based on surgical department needs
• Strong experience across multiple surgical specialties preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced perioperative environment with changing priorities
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pre-op, intra-op, and post-op nursing care in the Operating Room
• Assess patients before, during, and after surgery to support safe, high-quality outcomes
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team to ensure efficient surgical care
• Maintain a sterile field and uphold aseptic technique throughout procedures
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and assist with instrument, supply, and equipment readiness
• Perform circulating RN duties and support patient positioning, prepping, and transport as needed
• Document care accurately and communicate patient status clearly to the care team
• Support a culture of patient safety, quality improvement, and patient-centered care
