Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) Travel Contract in Birmingham, AL

  • Location: Birmingham, Alabama 35243
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,570 - $1,650

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • NRP certification required
  • Cerner and Fetalink experience must be clearly listed on the resume
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility for travel nurse eligibility
  • Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-moving L&D environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients
  • Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in condition
  • Collaborate with physicians, providers, and the care team to support positive birth outcomes
  • Administer medications, complete assessments, and document patient care accurately
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies with professionalism and urgency
  • Support patients and families with education, communication, and reassurance throughout the delivery process
  • Maintain a high standard of patient safety, quality, and unit readiness
