• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shifts Per Week: 3 shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460–$1,540
• Schedule Note: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• Floating: Med-Surg/Tele and Orthopedics
• Patient Ratio: 1:3
• Charting System: Meditech

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• PCU experience preferred; 6 months of PCU experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of cardiac drips, including Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, and Cardizem
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate accountability in patient care
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Progressive Care Unit Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to progressive care patients with cardiac and post-operative needs
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from CABG, AVR/MVR, aortic root repairs, LVAD, and VATS procedures
• Support care for post-vascular surgery patients and those pre/post cath lab and electrophysiology procedures
• Assist with bedside procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and PICC insertion
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, coordinated care
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold unit standards, policies, and safety practices
• Deliver compassionate care while contributing to a positive, team-focused unit culture
