- Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: 42-bed Med/Surg Telemetry
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Location: Jacksonville, North Carolina (28546) — a welcoming coastal community with access to outdoor recreation, nearby beaches, and a relaxed small-town atmosphere.
- Schedule Notes: Weekends and holidays included; no call; floating may be required to like acuities or lower based on census
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact RN license in hand at time of submission
- At least 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience required
- ACLS, BLS, and CPI certifications required
- Meditech experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of insulin, heparin, and Lasix drip management
- Ability to provide safe, accurate care for adult Med/Surg Telemetry patients
- IMCU experience is helpful if census requires support with higher-acuity patients
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible
Med/Surg Telemetry Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care to adult Med/Surg Telemetry patients
- Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal, general surgery, and orthopedic diagnoses
- Administer and titrate insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips according to protocol
- Perform thorough patient assessments and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support coordinated patient care and smooth unit flow
- Float to like acuities or lower acuity areas as needed based on staffing and patient needs
- Document nursing care accurately and timely in the charting system
- Support a patient-centered environment while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence
