Experienced Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse needed for a travel nursing opportunity in Chesapeake, Virginia. Join a fast-paced 28-bed unit providing post-op orthopedic, bariatric, colorectal, spinal, and Level III trauma care in Coastal Virginia.

- Employment Type: Travel RN
- Start Date: 9/28/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 night schedule options
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Patient Ratio: Typical ratio of 1:7
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Floating/Holidays: Floating and holidays required within the contract
- Charting System: Epic
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent, relevant RN experience in Med/Surg, telemetry, or acute care nursing
- Previous travel nurse experience required
- Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Current Epic charting proficiency required
- BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Comfort working with a 1:7 patient ratio in a busy hospital environment
- Must successfully complete facility EKG testing with a passing score of 80% or higher
- Must meet strict compliance standards, including no prior license or background issues
- Fit testing must be compatible with facility requirements
- RTO must be submitted with the application and is reviewed case by case
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to post-operative orthopedic, bariatric, colorectal, and spinal patients
- Care for Level III trauma patients and accept med-surg overflow as census allows
- Monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms
- Manage common Med/Surg Tele needs such as IV therapy, wound care, drains, and oxygen support
- Support patient recovery with safe, compassionate, and timely interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote strong patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit protocols in Epic
- Work effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment with strong communication and clinical judgment
