Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho or a compact state
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
• Prior Medical-Surgical experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• BLS required upon hire
• ACLS required upon hire
• PALS certification required within 1 year of hire
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as needed

Med-Surg Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy according to provider orders
• Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and patient progress, and report changes promptly
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and self-care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Support infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
• Assist with post-operative recovery, chronic illness management, and acute interventions
• Support onboarding and mentorship of new team members when needed
