• Orientation: Computer training, floor shadowing, then independent assignment

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care or telemetry nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips confidently
• Comfortable caring for post-cardiac cath, CHF, COPD, arrhythmia, and post-pacer patients
• Experience titrating Heparin drips preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment with frequent admissions and discharges

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to telemetry patients with a focus on cardiac and medical management needs
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret strips, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and manage Heparin titration as ordered
• Complete admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient assessments independently
• Collaborate with charge nurses, monitor techs, PCTs, and the broader care team to support safe patient flow
• Assist with treatments and supportive care for patients requiring high-flow, BiPAP, or CPAP as appropriate
• Float to other areas within skill set when needed and provide dependable support across the hospital
• Deliver compassionate, efficient care while helping maintain a positive, team-oriented unit culture
