Job Details
- Location: Meridian, Idaho
- Healthcare Setting: Acute care Medical/Surgical unit
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, weekends as needed, first to float
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 to $2,010
- Charting System: EPIC
- Start Date: September 21, 2026
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification required
- EKG certification required
- BSN preferred/required per assignment requirements
- EPIC experience required
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Willingness to float to like units as needed
- Comfortable working with students and precepting new travelers when needed
- Professional, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills
Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced Med/Surg acute care setting
- Care for patients with orthopedic, urology, general surgery, gynecology, and medical overflow diagnoses
- Monitor and interpret telemetry as part of routine patient care
- Administer and monitor medications and therapies within RN scope of practice
- Support patients receiving common treatments such as CBI, heparin, PCA, and morphine drips as appropriate
- Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Float between Med/Surg units and other like units when needed
- Participate in orientation, complete required modules, and work effectively in a dynamic healthcare environment
