Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Location: Oakland, Maryland
• Setting: Acute care medical-surgical unit
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: Weekends as scheduled; extra shifts may be available
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040 - $2,150
• Charting System: EPIC
• Care Environment: Medical-surgical unit with a broad patient mix
• Orientation: Unit-based orientation and training provided

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• EPIC experience required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Strong medical-surgical background and comfort managing a varied patient population
• Ability to work every other weekend and rotate holidays with regular staff
• Willingness to float when needed
• Valid driver’s license required for submission

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients with a wide range of diagnoses
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status accurately in EPIC
• Collaborate with the acute care team to support safe and effective patient outcomes
• Respond to changing patient needs in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, treatments, and ongoing care planning
• Work with respiratory therapy and support equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen as needed
• Float to other units when assigned and provide additional support as a task-oriented team member
• Maintain professionalism, adaptability, and strong communication throughout the assignment
