• Orientation: Unit-specific orientation with EPIC training, educator time, shadowing, and precepted shifts

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Minimum of 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience required
• Level I trauma experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience titrating IV drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, and insulin
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips and work confidently in a high-acuity critical care setting
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical-thinking skills
• Availability for weekend and holiday rotation as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill Surgical ICU patients
• Monitor and manage post-surgical, multisystem trauma, open abdomen, and endovascular patients
• Titrate IV medications and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapy, charge nurses, and the broader care team
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry changes
• Support safe patient care when floating to lower-acuity units as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and follow established unit protocols
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-moving critical care environment
