• Position: CVICU Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nurse
• Schedule: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 9/28/2026
• Duration: 15 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,560 - $2,700
• Charting System: EPIC
• Setting: Acute care Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Location: Peoria, IL 61637
• Schedule Notes: Every other weekend and every other holiday required; floating to every level of care may be expected

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of CVICU, cardiac ICU, or comparable critical care experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS preferred; CCRN a plus
• Strong ability to interpret telemetry strips and manage complex cardiac rhythms
• Experience titrating vasoactive and sedation drips in a high-acuity setting
• Comfort working with ventilated patients and advanced cardiovascular support devices
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-stress ICU environment

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to post-operative cardiac and cardiovascular ICU patients
• Monitor and interpret continuous telemetry and hemodynamic data
• Titrate multiple drips as ordered, including vasoactive, sedation, and anticoagulation infusions
• Care for patients with advanced support needs such as ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, IABPs, and temporary pacemakers
• Support patients recovering from CABG, valve procedures, dissections, AAA, vascular procedures, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, and other critical cardiac conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, and the broader care team
• Deliver safe, compassionate care while maintaining a strong focus on assessment, documentation, and timely interventions
• Adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and maintain professionalism in a high-acuity ICU environment
