• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts; every other weekend and holiday typically expected

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Illinois, or proof that the application process has been initiated
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS required
• PALS and NIH preferred
• Experience caring for ventilated patients, temporary pacemakers, balloon pumps, hemodynamic monitoring, BiPAP, and titrating IV drips
• Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment with strong critical-thinking skills
• Comfort with EPIC charting and electronic health record documentation
• Must be able to provide requested submission details, including requested time off and required identification information

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care to critically ill ICU patients
• Monitor patient condition closely and respond quickly to changes in status
• Titrate and manage medications such as Cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, levophed, vasopressin, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, and neosynephrine as ordered
• Provide care for common ICU diagnoses including STEMI, CHF, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, COVID, flu, and heart block
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and the broader care team to support excellent patient outcomes
• Document accurately in EPIC and participate in monitor strip review as required
• Adapt to floating opportunities to other areas where experience applies, such as Med Surg, ED, or BHC
• Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach while delivering high-quality critical care
