Job Details

• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Acute & Intermediate Care
• Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Start Date: 9/28/2026

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, or a pending state license accepted by the required deadline
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and dysrhythmia management strongly preferred
• BSN preferred
• Ability to work nights and maintain a flexible schedule within unit needs
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric cardiac stepdown patients
• Care for post-op open heart, thoracic surgery, revascularization, and acute heart failure patients
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Manage complex therapies including heparin infusions and other nurse-driven protocols as assigned
• Perform and independently complete ECGs when needed
• Support patients with arterial lines, chest tubes, mediastinal tubes, JP drains, and other specialty equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to promote safe, efficient patient care
• Float within scope of practice as needed and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment
