• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
• Additional Schedule Notes: Every other weekend and major holiday coverage required; no call

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact privilege, if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred
• Pediatric Emergency Department experience is a plus, but not required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire; preferred at start if available
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI certification required, or completion of the de-escalation module onsite
• Must pass an EKG exam at orientation
• Copy of nursing diploma or transcript required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care in a high-acuity pediatric emergency setting
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop plans of care, and evaluate responses to treatment
• Administer medications and treatments according to nursing standards and clinical guidelines
• Triage and prioritize patients requiring stabilization, resuscitation, and urgent intervention
• Support care for a wide range of conditions, including medical illness, trauma, mental health concerns, and pediatric emergencies
• Collaborate closely with physicians, charge nurses, and the interprofessional care team
• Assist with rapid response situations and support charge nurse coverage on night shift as needed
• Use Epic EMR and point-of-care tools to document care accurately and efficiently
• Maintain calm, professional communication with patients and families during stressful situations
• Follow infection control practices and uphold patient safety standards at all times
