Job Details
- Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 9/28/2026
- Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Shift Duration: 8-hour days
- Workweek: Monday–Friday, 5x8 schedule
- Call Requirement: Required, including weekday and weekend rotation
- Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,370–$2,500
- Location: Carlsbad, NM 88220
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients
- Strong background in general surgery, orthopedics, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endoscopy, and trauma
- DaVinci robotics experience required in this OR nursing role
- Excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-volume surgical services setting
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as an OR circulator in accordance with hospital policies and surgical standards
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other perioperative team members
- Anticipate patient and surgeon needs to help ensure smooth, timely surgical cases
- Maintain communication with families and support a positive patient experience
- Ensure supplies are available and cases remain organized and on schedule
- Update physician preference cards and support efficient operating room operations
- Scrub and assist during surgical cases as needed
- Supervise and support personnel involved in delivering high-quality patient care
