• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday

• Setting: Adult ICU with primarily medical and surgical critical care patients

ICU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of assignment or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience with ICU experience required
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire if not already obtained from an approved source prior to direct patient care
• BLS preferred at hire
• Completion of a dysrhythmia exam required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Experience with critical care devices and modalities such as CRRT, IABP, Impella, EVDs, lumbar drains, and Swan-Ganz catheters preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-acuity, rapidly changing situations
• Not open to local candidates

Responsibilities

• Assess critically ill patients and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Administer medications and manage therapies safely and in accordance with nursing standards
• Monitor hemodynamics and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Provide care for patients requiring advanced respiratory support including vents, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Support patients with life-sustaining technologies and critical drips with routine titration
• Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families while supporting them through complex critical care needs
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to safe, efficient unit operations
• Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and compassionate care across the lifespan
