- Shift Duration: 12 hours

- Contract Length: 13 weeks with potential extension
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770 - $1,870
- Unit Setting: Adult cardiac stepdown / telemetry overflow
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics

Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or a closely related acute care setting
- Experience using Epic EMR with a minimum of 1 year preferred/required
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale certification or ability to obtain as required
- Ability to successfully complete a med and arrhythmia exam
- Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, telemetry monitoring, and post-procedure cardiac nursing care
- Comfort working with a 4:1 patient ratio in a busy, high-acuity hospital nursing environment
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients with cardiac diagnoses including STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, arrhythmias, CVA, and post-procedure recovery
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and manage cardiac drips according to unit protocols
- Perform blood product administration, IV therapy, central line care, and other core bedside nursing duties
- Support patients recovering from PPM placement, defibrillator placement, ablations, and cardiac catheterization procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response, radiology, and physical therapy
- Maintain accurate documentation and deliver safe, compassionate care throughout the shift
- Participate in orientation, required pre-assignment testing, and onboarding modules as needed
