Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or a closely related acute care setting
• Experience using Epic EMR with a minimum of 1 year preferred/required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale certification or ability to obtain as required
• Ability to successfully complete a med and arrhythmia exam
• Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms, telemetry monitoring, and post-procedure cardiac nursing care
• Comfort working with a 4:1 patient ratio in a busy, high-acuity hospital nursing environment

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients with cardiac diagnoses including STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, arrhythmias, CVA, and post-procedure recovery
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips according to unit protocols
• Perform blood product administration, IV therapy, central line care, and other core bedside nursing duties
• Support patients recovering from PPM placement, defibrillator placement, ablations, and cardiac catheterization procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response, radiology, and physical therapy
• Maintain accurate documentation and deliver safe, compassionate care throughout the shift
• Participate in orientation, required pre-assignment testing, and onboarding modules as needed
