- Position: PACU Registered Nurse (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN)

- Setting: Acute Care Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
- Shifts Per Week: 3
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 16 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,550 - $1,630
- Start Date: 09/28/2026
- Call Requirements: 1st and 2nd call required on weekdays and weekends; call volume averages about 9 shifts per 6-week period
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Acute PACU experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and participate in PACU call coverage
- Must live at least 100 miles from the hospital and provide an unexpired driver's license with application
- Strong assessment skills and the ability to provide safe recovery care for post-operative patients
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery in the PACU
- Assess vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and overall post-operative stability
- Recognize changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and interventions in accordance with PACU protocols
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative care team
- Support safe patient handoff to the next level of care or discharge
- Participate in scheduled call coverage to support unit needs
