• Location: Denton, TX 76201
• Setting: Acute Care Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,550 - $1,630
• Start Date: 09/28/2026
• Call Requirements: 1st and 2nd call required on weekdays and weekends; call volume averages about 9 shifts per 6-week period

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Acute PACU experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and participate in PACU call coverage
• Must live at least 100 miles from the hospital and provide an unexpired driver's license with application
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to provide safe recovery care for post-operative patients

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery in the PACU
• Assess vital signs, pain levels, airway status, and overall post-operative stability
• Recognize changes in condition and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and interventions in accordance with PACU protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative care team
• Support safe patient handoff to the next level of care or discharge
• Participate in scheduled call coverage to support unit needs
